"An idea not coupled with action will never get any bigger than the brain cell it occupied."
– Arnold H. Glasgow
About the Institute:
The Institute experience is based on a 2.5 day agenda designed to provide participants the opportunity to transform an idea they have to serve the needs of their community into a customized action plan that when implemented will serve to bring about lasting social change.
Why should you attend:
The MLK Observance Day Association, Inc. recognizes there are everyday people working on a daily basis to bring about resources, peace and unity to their neighborhood and/or community. We realize you have ideas to make a difference but, don't have the resources or the support to get them off the ground. In an attempt to fulfill this need for community support, the Association is proud to present the MLK Institute for Community and Social Change. The Institute agenda offers workshops and small group sessions geared to help you develop and hone an Action Plan to take back to your campus, neighborhood or community and then put it into action! The Institute will culminate with a closing luncheon.
Who should attend:
Concerned citizens, members of neighborhood associations, civic organizations, Greek organizations, college student organizations, college students, community organizers and church/synagogue ministry members/leaders are strongly encouraged to attend!
Groups or individuals may register using a single form. THE COST OF PARTICIPATING IS $20 (NONREFUNDABLE) PER PERSON.
The fee covers materials, meals and closing luncheon.
